Alonzo Babers – Air Force Academy graduate. 1984 Olympic 400 meter and 4x400 meter relay Gold Medallist. He is now a pilot for United Airlines.

Nicole Banker - Graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Maryland. She was a middle distance runner on the UMD Track&Field team from 2008-2012. Currently working as an Intern for the University of Maryland Track and Field program.

Ray Brown – Graduated from St. Alban’s Preparatory School and the University of Virginia. Ray went on to become one of the top middle distance runners in the U.S.

Landria Buckley- Graduated from Howard University.  Current MBA student at the University of Maryland.  Post Collegiate athlete training in the 400m Hurdles.

Marcel Burke – Graduated from Albany High and Seton Hall University. At Seton Hall he was a many time Big East Champion and a 2000 All-American.

Robin Campbell – 1980 & 1984 Olympian at 800 meters. A Washington D.C. native, Robin works with several youth programs in the area.

Assata Cowart- Graduated from Temple University.  Currently training for post-collegiate competition in the 400m Hurdles.

Renee Clarke – Student at the University of Maryland and member of track team. Nursing major graduating in December 2006.

Bob Cottingham – Graduated from Rutgers University Law School in 1994 and Columbia University in 1988 with a BA in History. Bob was a 1988 and 1992 Olympian and four-time All-American in fencing. Currently works as a legislative director for Congressman Payne. (D-NJ)

Randy Cox – Graduated with a BS from the University of Pennsylvania. Randy was a member of the Trinidadian Olympic Team for the 1988 Games in the 400m Intermediate Hurdles. He is currently a financial consultant.

Garfield Ellenwood- 20 years of coaching experience in speed development as an athlete and as a coach.  As a collegian, he set the Seton Hall and Big East conference 55m record while becoming a 2x NCAA All-American.  His coaching resume includes several athletes to achieve top ten US an dWorld rankings in sprint events since 2004.  He has coached at least one athlete in the last three Olympic Games (Athens- 2004, Beijing- 2008, & London 2012)

Kierra Foster – Student at the University of Maryland and member of track team. NCAA All-American in the long jump junior and senior year. School record holder in this event.  Family Studies major graduating December 2006.

Ron Freeman - 1968 Olympic Bronze Medallist in the 400 meters and 4x400 meter relay Gold Medallist and former World Record holder. Ron also mentors several elite athletes and is currently President/CEO of the International Medallist Association Inc.

Samuel "Sammy G." Gabremariam – 4 time All-American, Track and Field 6 Time All Academic Big East Honoree, National Black Coaches Association Scholarship recipient, Georgeotown Track and Field MVP in 1998 and 1999.

Angela Gillespie – Graduated from Morgan State University in 1988 with a BS in Management. NCAA All-American in track and field.

Dr. Lillian Greene-Chamberlain – Graduated from Colorado State and received her Ph.D. from Fordham University in New York. Fluent in five languages, she was formerly the Director of Sports Programs for UNESCO. Now owns a marketing and import-export firm.

Charles "Chip" Jenkins – Villanova University and Law School graduate. 1992 4x400 relay Olympic Gold Medallist. Currently a staff attorney for the U.S. Patent Office.

Brooks Johnson – Graduated from Tufts in 1956. 1984 U.S. Olympic Coach. Former Head Track & Field coach at Stanford University and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Robert Johnson, M.D. – The director of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at New Jersey Medical School. Founded the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the New Jersey Medical School in 1976. Holds memberships on boards of many organizations whose activities are directed towards adolescents.

Rich Kenah – 1991 Georgetown University graduate. 1991 indoor and outdoor World Championships Bronze Medallist at 800 meters. Married to Cheri Kenah, a world class track and field athlete at 5000 meters.

Jair Lynch – 1994 Stanford Graduate in Civil Engineering. 1996 gymnastics Olympic Silver Medallist. 1st African-American to medal in Olympic Men’s Gymnastics.

John Marquiss – Graduated from Georgetown University in 2002 with a BS in Computer Science.  Former indoor Georgetown school record holder in the indoor 400 and 4x400. He is now working at the new Georgetown campus in Qatar.

John Marshall – Graduated from Villanova University in 1985 with BA in Economics. 1984 Olympian in the 800 meters and 1983 NCAA 800-meter Champion. Track and field coach.

Butch Reynolds – Ohio State Graduate, 1988 400 meter Silver Medallist and 4x400 meter relay Gold Medallist. Former 400 meter & 4x400 meter relay World Record holder.

Danielle Siebert –Current assistant coach with the University of Maryland track program coaching middle distance events.  Assists with planning of Avenue youth events and speed clinics/camp programs.  Graduate of the University of Maryland where she was a captain of the track and cross country teams.  MBA, Masters in Management, BA in Studio Art/ Education.

Kelly Swanson – BA in Political Science from University of Vermont. She is the President of Swanson Communications, a public relations and marketing firm.

Alan Thomas – Alan majored in Political Science as an undergrad at Yale and in 1987 graduated from Georgetown Law School. He is currently an attorney for the FCC, but is also a writer who enjoys mentoring and tutoring young people.

Tiombe Hurd- The American record holder in the Triple Jump.

Kevin Young- The World record holder in the 400 meter hurdles. 

Thomas Friscia- Graduate of the University of Maryland in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiological Sciences and a minor in Community Health. Previous New Jersey Indoor State Champion at 800m. Member of three record setting relays at the University of Maryland. Third All Time Indoors at UMD for the 800m.

Andrew Valmon –The founder of the Avenue program, he graduated from Seton Hall University in 1987 with a BA in Marketing Communications. 1988 and 1992 Olympic 4x400 meter Gold Medallist. 3-time All-American in Track & Field. Andrew worked for Eastman Kodak and Pepsi before becoming a full-time athlete. He is currently the University of Maryland Head coach for Men's and Women's Track & Field.  In 2012, Valmon was named the head coach for the Olympic Games in London.  

Meredith Rainey Valmon –Graduated with honors from Harvard University in 1990 with a BA in Social Studies. A 1992 and 1996 Olympian in the 800 meters. She is America’s top 800 meter runner. Meredith has taken time off from MBA studies to train full time and help direct the Avenue program. Married to Andrew Valmon and mother of their son Travis and their daughters Maya and Mallory.
